The Manitoba COVID-19 Dashboard has reported cases involving individuals belonging to Lt. Colonel Barker V.C. School and MacKenzie Middle School. These cases did not result in any close contacts being identified and no notification to the school community was provided by Public Health. The third Wednesday in April is known throughout Manitoba as "School Bus Driver Day." On behalf of Senior Administration and the Board of Trustees, we would like to thank our bus drivers for getting our students to and from school safely!

Wednesday, April 21, 2021 is Administrative Professionals Day. On behalf of Senior Administration and the Board of Trustees, we would like to recognize the dedication and hard work of the Administrative Professionals throughout the Division!

The Manitoba Association of Parent Councils (MAPC) will be hosting a meeting via Zoom with parents, PAC members, colleagues and educational partners to discuss Bill 64. Please click on the above link for the announcement and invitation, which provides details on how to join the meeting.

In 2020, Mountain View School Division received a $6,000 grant from the Dauphin and District Community Foundation (DDCF)/Emergency Community Support Fund to support four Dauphin schools that run nutrition programs: Whitmore Elementary School, Henderson Elementary School, Mackenzie Middle School and Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School. The schools all used the funds to purchase food and food service items for their nutrition programs. Thanks, DDCF!

MVSD is considering revising its Inclement Weather Procedures and is looking for stakeholder input. The current MVSD Inclement Weather Procedure requires schools to be closed only in the instance of highway closures. Buses do not run (Cancellation of Bus Service Procedure) if weather or road conditions warrant (e.g. -45° Celsius windchills, very poor visibility, poor road conditions). We would appreciate your input by completing an online survey by Friday, April 16th. Please click on the link to access the survey.

Manitoba Education, in collaboration with public health officials, has prepared a Back to School Poster – Help Keep Our Schools Safe, which reminds us all to follow the fundamentals of health to reduce the risk of COVID-19 entering and being transmitted in our schools.
